Is Your "PC" In Check?

No, I don't mean your personal computer. I want to talk about your Patience and Consistency.

Patience and Consistency go hand-in-hand in the world of Network Marketing. If these two key characteristics get out of balance, then your whole process gets out of balance.

Consistency
In Network Marketing you have be active. You have to share your opportunity with others. That sharing should be consistent. You should have a plan for your sharing to ensure that you are being consistent.

For example, I share my opportunity with 5 people a day, Monday through Friday. That's the plan I have set for myself to grow my business. So a week, I introduce 25 new people and get them in the "pipeline". So every month I'm exposing 100 people. Your goals, or plan, may be more or less than mine but it provides for a way to measure consistency.

So in order to meet the goal I've set ... 5 per day, 5 days a week ... I have to be consistent and follow the plan.

Patience
In Network Marketing you have to be patient. Not everyone is going to jump at your opportunity just because you shared it with them. Have that happen a few times in row and our patience starts to wear thin.
Network Marketing is a "foreign" concept to many. We've been raised to work for someone else and not for ourselves.
That's why you have to keep it in check. Because they don't see the advantages of what you're trying to share with them.
So remember to keep your patience in check.

The Results
When we fail to follow our plan, or consistency, we tend to become impatient with the results.
When we become impatient with others, then we don't follow our plan. We don't stay consistent.

Stay in Balance
Constantly check yourself. Strive to maintain balance between your patience and your consistency.
If you aren't see results, check these two things first.

Bigger is Better

In Network Marketing, or MLM, everything is about consistent growth.

You work daily to build your team. Which results in an monetary increase. Or in layman terms, a bigger paycheck.

In Network Marketing it's not just about what you're doing, but what is your team doing? In this business you can't build yourself to financial freedom, or extra income. Your team has to be productive as well.
As a team you build success. As a team you create a stream, that grows into a river.

If you're not having the success that you want then you've probably got some problems. Where are those problems? Probably inside your team.
But guess what, bigger problems mean bigger paychecks.
Not sure what those problems are, or could be. Listen to message below from Eric Worre and see if you can identify some that might be occurring within your team. Once you have identified those problems, then take action to fix them.

Get Excited

Your level of excitement, and/or enthusiasm, about the product or opportunity that you're promoting to others is a key factor in how they respond.

You're trying to show them how the can move ahead in life. You're trying to tell them how they can change their lifestyle. You want them to know that they can increase their income or financial stream.
If you don't express excitement about it, then they aren't going to believe you. And if they don't believe you, then they aren't going to be open, or receptive, to the opportunity.

Don't take my word for it. Listen to what Mia Davies has to say about it.

Do What Works

Let's kick this off with a video from Eric Worre first...

[ Source: The Network Marketing Pro ]

Thanks for that message Eric!

Eric is always thinking about this business from the basics. That's what I like about his videos. They always put me back on the path. Or they show me a different way to look at what I'm doing, whether right or wrong.

See I've been relying on his videos for the purpose of this blog. But then that doesn't really let you know about me. Or what I'm thinking. It gives you his perspective but not mine. Heck, you might as well just go visit his site and bypass me.

Well things are about to change...

I will still post about Eric's videos. But you're going to see more posts from me. About my journey in all this. About how my opportunity is taking me to new levels. I want to show, and share, with you my passion for Network Marketing.

Avoidance Behaviors

I had a few I had to shake off and if I'm not mistaken, you probably do too.

Although I re-entered Network Marketing back in June of 2010, I really didn't start to look at the opportunity I got involved with for its business side until September of 2010. Events in my job had me focused on closing a project due to a client choosing to outsource their services. This kept me busy until August 2010.
Why did I tell you all that when the topic here is "avoidance" behaviors? Well, I knew that I was going to be out of job come August of 2010. I knew that I would receive pay from the job through September of 2010. I knew I needed to find something new but I didn't do anything about it. We often refuse to look at the reality of the issue until we are forced to face it. I would classify that as a type of "avoidance" behavior.

Once I started to actively pursue my opportunity I got a lot of advice of what I should be doing. Like building relationships on Facebook. How to use my Twitter accounts (note the plural) and start blogging. I was even told that maybe I should get a second Facebook account just to market myself as a Network Marketer. All this great advice from other successful people within my opportunity and I was off doing what they suggested. All of those things weren't bringing me any closer to success. They were distracting me from the simple steps outlined in my back office and from other's in my opportunity that would push me towards success. I seen the light after spending months working on the suggestions I was given. They were enabling me to avoid what I needed to be doing. I had to change.

I got rid of the accounts I didn't need. The extra Facebook account, the blog and I shut down Twitter. I had to reorganize my daily mode of operation. I had to rid myself of the "avoidance" behaviors I created. Why, because I wasn't in front of decision making people. I wasn't talking to people about my opportunity. I wasn't being successful.

It only takes 7 days to create a habit. (It seems like it takes forever to break one.)

Break your avoidance behaviors today and build your way to success.

Passion

Eric Worre shared a video yesterday about "Building Your Passion". That video is at the end of this post. He doesn't talk about our passion for Network Marketing, he talks about a "product" passion. He talks about our passion we have for our product or service and how to communicate it.

Eric shares 3 tips we need to have to develop our passion:
1. Be a Product of the Product.
2. Build your own Story.
3. Listen for other Stories.

I can relate to all of those. My up-line promotes all 3. I was on a call Wednesday evening when my direct up-line shared with everyone how I use our product.
Our team even recently started a "5 A Day Club". Every Sunday evening we have an open call and we get to share with everyone "how" we shared our product with others throughout the week.

Turn it Around

In one of my posts from the 17th, Tracking Trends, I shared from Eric Worre's tip about digging into your "numbers" from you business performance from last year.

Today Eric has shared some tips with what we need to do if you didn't like what we seen when we reviewed last years performance.
I know that I wasn't impressed at all when I looked back over the last quarter of 2010 and my business performance. Numbers were low and things were slow. Why, because I wasn't consistent. I had a low level of personal activity. As a result, my team had the same performance.

If you want things to change, and turn around in terms of success, then it has to start with "You". Our team's will do what they "see" their leader doing. It takes active action.
See what you weren't doing last year and change that, or those things you found.

Width vs. Depth

In my previous post I commended Mia Davies for her honesty and guts to let the Network Marketing world know that she had failed. She had sponsored a record number of people into her opportunity, so she had "width", but the failure was that she had no "depth".

Last year in January, Eric Worre shared a video about the subject of "Width vs. Depth".

The Compensation Plan for your opportunity will define, or outline, the factors that qualify you to start making money. Some plans only have a required width, while other's may have a required width and depth.
Know your Compensation Plan so you can maximize your results.

Width is the number of people you must personally sponsor. In my opportunity that number is 2. 1 on the Left and 1 on the right. For those of you learning about Network Marketing that's known as a binary system.

But what about depth? Depth is the number of "generations" or "levels" that your team has. Basically for me, that is my 1 left/1 right scenario above. My 2 personally sponsored team members create my first level.

Now here's the purpose of this post, when do I go for more width?
My up-line has provided me with that answer. They've built successful teams before with a different opportunity and they suggest 4 levels of depth before adding new width.

Watch Eric's video because he shares his insight into when "width" and when "depth".

True Leaders

In my opinion, true leaders will let you know when they've failed.

In Network Marketing I want to be surrounded by "true" leaders. I want my leaders to be honest and upfront. If they've failed, in any way, I would like to know. Why, because I follow their advice and their actions. I look to them for how to be successful in this business.

I've been in leadership positions before and I can tell you it's tough to be open and honest with your team when you've failed them.

In Network Marketing, your success is based on other's success. By helping the people you sponsored achieve their goals, both you and them will be successful. If you aren't helping them, then your success will be very limited.
You can sponsor people into your opportunity all day long, but if those you sponsor aren't sponsoring others then no one achieves success.

My hat is off to Mia Davies, and I thank her for her honesty.
In her recent video she shares how she failed her team, and herself. She shares about all the promotion she received and "titles" she obtained but she wasn't having any success.

Avoid the pitfall.

Tracking Trends

Eric Worre brings an interesting question to the table, "Do you have the guts to be a Pro?". Well, do you?

Numbers hold the answers to our success in Network Marketing. In this video Eric talks about tracking the numbers and the trends in our business. Looks like its time to do some homework.

Simple Prospecting Scripts

Network Marketing, or MLM, is about sharing your opportunity with others. In other words, prospecting.

Now there's no sense in me trying to rebuild the wheel. Eric Worre provides us with a simple 3 step prospecting script.

Goal Setting

Now here was something that I had never heard before in all my attempts in Network Marketing.

Thank's to Eric Worre, I have a whole new outlook on my success and how "setting goals" will help me in achieving the level of success I want.

Hopefully Eric's tip will help other's obtain the success that they desire too.

ACTION is a Requirement

Mia Davies shares in a video that 98% of Network Marketers fail. That's right 98%.

I'm for certain that she probably isn't far off with that number. I've been there before. Tried and Failed. Why, because we fail to take the appropriate ACTION.
If I reflect back to my first Network Marketing/MLM opportunity, Amway, I never achieved success. I could draw circles for days. And me and my whiteboard were an amazing team. But that's where it stopped. I never held a meeting to share with others. I attended a lot of meetings, listened to a lot of tapes, bought my own products but I never had a meeting to sponsor anyone into the opportunity.
I failed to take all the actions necessary to succeed.

Have you tried Network Marketing and failed in the past? Are you currently in Network Marketing and currently not achieving any success? Are you taking the ACTION that's required?

Unseen Solutions

For those of you who’ve grown up around, or know, the success that Network Marketing or MLM can provide then you don’t have an excuse for “unseen solutions”.

But for those of you who don’t know about Network Marketing or MLM then you could be missing an opportunity or the solution you need to turn things around in your life.
With Network Marketing, or MLM, you can build a secondary income that is worked on your time and your schedule. It’s a part-time opportunity that can lead to full-time success and financial security and stability.

The Problem

The majority has been taught - Get an Education - then - Go to Work for Corporate America.

Education is a necessity. It teaches us skill sets that we can use in the real world and with those around us. Notice, I didn’t say that you need a “higher” education. In my opinion, colleges are overpriced and come with no guarantee that you will succeed.

Corporate America operates on a broken employment model. You work to line the pockets of the employer and the stock holders. There is no loyalty. Companies outsource jobs all the time. Companies outsource to gain bigger profits for themselves and their stock holders.

The Challenge

To open the minds of everyday people to the opportunity that Network Marketing provides.

Since all of us have been preprogramed by society about education and work it can be hard for us to see that opportunity. Why, because it goes against what we were taught. It goes against the grain of everything we’ve watched generations before us do. It goes against what you are doing now. And its easier just for us to just go with the flow.

Funny, we challenge our children to learn new things but we won’t. We challenge them to try new things, but we don’t.

Take the next 6 minutes or so and watch this video about “problems” or “solutions”. No, it’s not about the Network Marketing profession or MLM.

The video is about perceptions, and our personal way of seeing things. Because the fact is, our perceptions are our reality.
